Big Upsets Kick Off Under-2000

The first round of the Marshall Wednesday Under-2000 Swiss featured two huge upsets. Turpana Molina, rated only 923, knocked off Kenneth Coles, rated 1641. That's a 718-point upset! James Black defeated Paul McCormick in a 466-point upset. (Say, isn't that name familiar? Yes indeeed--Black had a big upset victory on Monday night, too.)

There's still time to enter the tournament! It's open to all rated under 2000 (USCF membership required). One game at a a slow time control (30/90, SD/60) is played every Wednesday at 7 PM.
