Young and Perry win Wednesday Under-2000

Mark Young and Malik Perry each scored 4 out of 5 to tie for first in the Wednesday Under-2000 Swiss at the Marshall Chess Club. Topping the field of 21 (plus two fillers) was worth $100 each.

Perry's performance was especially notable, since he started the tournament rated only 1487.

Third and Fourth prizes were shared by Gabriel Rigono and Jerry Monaco with 3 1/₂.

The next Wednesday tournament, open to USCF members rated under 2000, begins on August 13 and runs through September 10.
